Or do you think they are all victims of a viscous press vendetta?

They have stripped America of its dignity, respect, and honor. This is not in question. Colin Powell has warned about it. Most of the world hates us.

And, we cannot defeat the terrorists without good intelligence from all countries. Immediately following 9/11 both Iran and Syria provided us with critical information that helped in tracking OBL to Afghanistan and pinning the bombing on him. I doubt we can count on their full cooperation anytime soon.

We may be the most powerful country, but we cannot stand alone against the whole world.

The Bush administration and Congress have embarrassed America internationally. Unfortunately, we have earned this ill-will, and now we have we to try and regain America's position in the world - the one Clinton left to Bush and that which existed immediately after 9/11.

Ashamed, embarassed, irritated, frustrated, mad - i could go on but i'll stop there.
The 'Republicans' we currently have in charge are acting like big-government spenders. They also seem to have a problem in the 'character' dept.
Also, i don't think much of anything is going to change significantly for the better until a few things happen.
The first is, the Fair Tax. I used to think a flat tax would do it but the politicos would find a way to screw that up just like our current tax system is.
The second is, term limits. No-one should be a lifelong politician. Senators need to be limited to 2 consecutive terms and then out. Representatives could serve for 3 consecutive terms. If these terms were served, that person could never be elected to that office again.
Third, cut out all foreign aid. America for Americans.
We desperately need a viable third party alternative also.

I am conservative. I feel let down on some issues. Some i feel the current administration is right on.Currently i don't see anyone doing much better. The Democrats say they have a plan but just can't agree with what it is. We are headed for another world war.All of the politicians are too busy bickering in a partisan childish fight to actually get anything accomplished. The media is there stirring the pot because it sells .I think parties should be eliminated all together. The two most popular candidates should face off.Groups divided will usually stick with the ones in their group.

Yes, the elected politicians in Washington reflect poorly on all Americans. Every day, there's new information that shows their corruption and determination to hang onto power at any cost to the country.

For example, Card and others strongly advised Bush to get rid of Rumsfeld in early 05. Bush agreed, but then Rove told him that that mistakes in the Iraq War and occupation would be exposed during confirmation hearings for a new Secretary of Defense. So Bush stuck with Rumsfeld, and stuck with the losing course, rather than face the music for his earlier mistakes..

Nope, I'm not ashamed. I think they could do some things better, but I also believe that yes, the press does seem to have a vendetta.

Embarrassed with the whole dog and pony show. What we have is the worst leadership from what lead up to our national depression period of the 30's. I'm afraid that could happen again with this new World Banking system, while depleting Americas resources.
