S Video Problem?

I have s video output on my laptop and i have s video input on my tv and i have a s video cable but the problem is that when i put all of these together nothing happens...i mean nothing comes up on the tv but it does recognize that an s video cable has been plugged in..

You likely have to tell your computer to use the S-video out. Go into Startmenu->settings->control panel->display.

You will liekly need to go in the advanced tab, but look around in there until you find something like
"external monitor" or "signal out" or something similiar.
