This is easy:

(2.3 moles/liter) * (3.5 liters) = 8.05 moles

(8.05 moles)/(5.0 liters) = 1.61 M

Given: M1=2.3M; V1=3.5L;M2=?;V2=5L
so:
M1V1=M2V2
(2.3M)(3.5L)=M2(5L)
8.05ML = M2(5L)
5L 5L
M2=1.61M - the new concentration
