Any professional body piercers out there? Plz answer: How long does it take for a tongue piercing to grow up?

I've had my tongue pierced for about 7 years now. I've always had jobs that allowed this, until now. I have a tongue retainer (clear) that I put in when I go to work, because I'm afraid it may grow up. I've always heard that a tongue piercing will grow up faster than any other part of the body. I was wondering if it would grow up in a 9 hour or so period of time or if I've had it pierced so long that it would possibly take days to grow up. I'm getting sick of having to put this tongue retainer in everyday for work. If I could go all day w/out it, then put my tongue bar back in after work, that would be great...is it possible w/out it growing up on me?

close up? umm... i had my tongue piercing in for a couple months before i took it out and it didn't close. i've actually had it out now for a few months and i could probably still get a bar through it. it really just depends on the person. i've known people's piercings to close up after a day. if i were you, i'd take it out right before entering the building and try putting it back in during every break just to make sure it hasn't closed.

Hun I go thru the same thing... What I do... I've left my out for 9 hrs and it still did not close up... But what I did, I gaged it up to a 8 bar so the hole is a little bit bigger and would take longer to close.

hi I had my Navel pierced and for the 1st 2 months I used a style of great tapes (sticky bandages) to stick it over whilst i grow to be doing something that could reason it to be come invected. additionally i wiped sparkling it 6 to 10 situations an afternoon. whilst i grow to be laying interior the tub i layed for a protracted time so i could turn the hoop collectively as i grow to be in teh water so it would sparkling the interior to. you would be superb. I did alot of activities. basically the 1st week grow to be slightly painful yet its because of the fact it kinds slightly crust aroudn the hoop all of the time. in case you sparkling it all of the itme.....that's going to likely be superb.... take excitement in... Its stunning having a navel ring.....i've got been given a tongue piercing now to. and that's much greater advantageous :)
