they repel, just as if they were negative. Like charges repel

Positive or negative,the leaves will spread apart.
Just like a magnet, they will want to separate, as the electrostatic field, around the leaf have the same charge equally.
Try this have two gold leafs separated one charge positive the second negative. The leaves will move closer to each other, as they have different charges, and want to neutralize or balance the charges.
