Yes, piercings can be dangerous. If a mistake is made when you're getting the piercing it can hit a nerve and damage it, which has different consequences depending on where it is on the body. You can also get bad infections.

Infections are very common, nerve damage is not common when being pierced by a professional (DON'T let anyone else do it!), but it is nevertheless a risk.

Not really! It all depends on where you pierce. A professional knows the way to pierce without touching the nerve centres there. For a couple of days, you have to be really careful about infections on the site. It is believed that piercing various body parts were common soon after the discovery of metals by early civilisations!! If breaking the skin barrier is dangerous, then tattooing also is dangerous!!!.

i dont think they are all that dangerous, just don't put a saucer in your lip, please !!! my cousin thurman's girlfriend did and he says it's really hard to smooch.
