The invention of the telephone let women have more social freedom! They should of stayed in the kitchen cooking for their husband and cleaning around the house! They don't deserve to be in the workplace getting money for themselves.

now they can open doors for themselves, pay for meals instead of the man, worry about car payments, get up early after not enough sleep to go to work, etc...... Women's lib is great. thanks NOW for liberating men from your needy little ways that enslaved men for so long.

You need to explore history.

Women have been in the work force since day one. Man has always needed help plowing the fields, sowing and reaping. Women did that work as well as work in the house.

What women didn't do and to a degree still don't do is dangerous work. Women make babies are the source of male pleasure and not as strong as men, hence they were kept away from hunting and war.

Hunting it still, by and large, a male pastime.

Women also enjoyed a social life, with the same restrictions. Dangerous situations barred women. Saloons, for example, would not allow women inside unless accompanied by a man. The exception to this were saloon girls and wives looking for their husbands inside. But by and large a 18 year old girl didn't walk up to the bar and order a beer.

Absolute freedom came as a result of the femminist movement and suffrage movements. Women started to demand equal rights and privillages.

A lot of women still stay at home and in the kitchen, but mostly because their husbands make a lot of money. Poor people don't have that luxury.

If you are STARTING OUT today you need to make $75K or more to allow a woman to stay at home.

Those who started out 30 years ago, when a house was $25K and not $250K like it is today, when a solid car was $4k and not $25k. Those who have most of their mortgage paid and are making payments of only $150 a month can live on $30K today and let their wives stay home.

Today, 30K a year doesn't get you an apartment, car and the ability to go out and have fun. You barely survive on 30K

Thats why women work. The man makes $20- $30K and the woman makes $15 to 30K and now you can afford a house, kids, two cars, but not much more. So husband works nights and wife works days so they can take turns baby sitting because they haven't got the money for day care.

It takes $100K minimum to live a "decent life" in America today.

The average entry level job pays $15k. It takes two weeks or more salary to pay for an efficiency apartment.

YOu want to see women back in the kitchen FORCE congress to raise minimum wage to $20 an hour starting pay.

And things are getting worse. A friend whose wife did stay home, is making 45K owns a house he bought 20 years ago, but is facing "outsourcing" to China where they will do his job for $5K a year, saving the company $40K.

He has no idea where he will find a $45K job at age 50. He has bills, not money in the bank and you can't retire sooner than 67 today, 72 for full benefits.
