It was Richard Nixon when his deficit fell below a balanced budget. The Vietnam war had a lot to do with it to, over the constant bombings and lack of funds. Carters budget was the result of Nixon and Ford, the Republicans cried like babies when they paid their taxes.

it was about the same time did away with daylight savings time
kids had to go to school before sunrise. that did not last long
