(Its the one coming out with Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon) Because I don't know whether its worth seeing because I've only seen the advert for it. As mentioned above, this film is a remake of the Hong Kong classic Infernal Affairs. If Scorsese sticks to the plot of the original, then we are in for a real treat - the story is gripping and pretty intense because you really sympathise with the protagonists and feel the pain of their respective plights. Like most good films, the original blurs the line between "good" and "evil" and makes for great viewing - the cop who goes undercover and the mole who infiltrates the police force are both in unfamiliar territories, both doing a job for their respective sides, both struggling with their own thoughts and demons...

The Departed boasts an amazing cast - I'm not a fan of DiCaprio by any means but he has a certain charisma about him, and aside from the awful Titanic, he's always been pretty watchable. As for Damon, after watching the two Bourne films I think he does a pretty damn good job as a brooding action hero. Anyway, having seen clips of Nicholson portraying his slightly crazy and screen-dominating persona in the film, I think this is destined to be a great film. Big Jack doesn't even look like he's acting, and he's clearly enjoying playing the role with relish.

Let's hope the stars live up to their reputation!

the departed is based on the hong kong thriller flick infernal affairs, where of which the plot revolves around a rookie undercover cop played in the US version by leonardo decaprio, who uncovers a scheme hatched by an evil crime organisation, which is led by jack nicholson and his accomplice, matt damon who poses as a bent cop in his attempts to infiltrate the police force. brit ray winston and mark warlberg who starred in the remake of the italian job a few years ago also get supporting roles. this film looks really gritty and impressive- very dark, moody and engrossing. the a-list cast is just perfect and if it is anything to go by, this could actually be leonardo decaprio's best film to date. he has been criticised in the past for some of the films he's been in, but i had no qualms when he was given the role as det. billy costigan. if his performance in the departed is as good as others have made out, then he has done himself justice and given his career an additional boost . as for jack nicholson, it has been a long while since he has played a bad guy character, but he's a legend in hollywood, a wonderful actor too and a massive movie icon, he can pull off almost any role with ease.

the trailors and previews look excellent, and i for one cannot wait to see the departed. we could be even seeing jack nicholson and leonardo decaprio getting potential oscar nominations too! though it is definitely on my most wanted dvd list! even though this is more of a guys flick, this is still one film that is worth checking out!

It's all down to you, but this film has huge potential & don't be surprised if it get's oscars. It's a Martin Scorsese film, starring...Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Leo Di Caprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Ray Winston & more...It is a remake of a Hong Kong flick called Infernal Affairs. I'm looking forward to it & The Black Dahlia, but until you see them, who knows...

By the sound of the cast. This one is destined for the dump. Leo can make good script a flop.
