Most wars begin over religion or have it as a major factor. And all the deaths causes by that war are accepted as God's will. The fact is war only appears to serve one purpose...to lessen the population of the world. It also gives kids something to study in school.

If you asked Karl Marx he would tell you most wars are fought over class. The poor have so little they have nothing left to lose and so they start fighting. That is actually what most Revolutions and such actually were about. That is what most Coups are still about. When a leader is overthrown it is usually that the poor are so poor even if they lose they are likely to only die. I mean they had nothing left to lose but their life. Alot of larger countries attacked smaller ones because they wanted territory and to be bigger. Then you had cases like World War 1 where a country felt attacked so they mobilized well with all the tensions the other European countries started to mobolize. It caused someone to flinch basically and caused war. It was called fear of everyone else wanting to fight and paronia.

Wars have been started for many reasons throughout history. The typical reasons were land and money. Also many wars were started to spread Christianity. Not so different than today where wars are religion and money (oil) motivated.

The people might be told that there is some higher reason for a war to be fought, such as religion. The real reasons that wars are fought are land or money.

firefly- most of the wars begin just because people can't live happily with what they have.
even if they find God also they will go to some other place for a new one after some days thinking there might be some other good God.

In olden days it was the greed for ruling over a greater territory from which a larger revenue could be generated.
In modern times same thing works in a different way though the motto is to get greater benefit like oil etc.

Most wars begin over an upset in "balance of power," border dispute, or belief ideological, and/or theological supremacy.
