if the credit cards are only in her name, then you are not liable to pay them, and as she has no estate the debt dies with her,
please do not be persuaded by anyone into paying them or sign anything that may transfer the debt into your name, some companys do not care who they exploit and there is no one more vulnarable than some one who is grieving.
a loan company did this to my mother after my dad died and she ended up having to pay back all of the loan because they convinced her to sign a piece of paper that she did not understand.
just get in touch with the companys concerned, tell them that your mother has passed away leaving no estate and send them a copy of the death certificate.
i wish you well, stay strong and good luck.

First take your playing cards out of your wallet. positioned them in a container and wrap them like a birthday present day. do no longer unwrap them till your first birthday once they're all paid off. do no longer practice for brand new playing cards. take a seem at your earnings and your prices. Write down how a lot funds you're making each and each month. Then decide how a lot funds you spend each and each month. be particular you include such issues as employ, utilities, cellular telephone, automobile/transportation, nutrition, clothing, leisure, and so on. locate out the version between how a lot you're making and how a lot you spend. with a bit of luck, you're making more suitable than you spend. in case you do not you want to modify your spending so as that your prices bypass down. (eat at homestead, get a more competitively priced position of living, and so on.) next you want to decide how a lot you want to spend on your mastercard charges. call each and every card volume and locate out the minimum month-to-month fee on each and every card and the interest cost. upload the minimum month-to-month funds for your list of prices. those should be paid each and each month. Take some thing of your month-to-month earnings (what ever is left) and pay it in direction of the cardboard with the optimal interest cost first! also you should ask your mastercard agencies in the journey that they have got any stability move specials. you're in a position to diminish the expenses of interest and consolidate on to one card. Going to a third party isn't a dumb idea yet you do not have that a lot debt. Use this as an risk to the way in which to apply credit wisely and funds -- going to a third party received't help you with that.

you would not be responsible unless you co-signed when the cards were opened
This would come from her estate and if she had none the credit card companies are out of luck

You don't pay them. You call the credit card company up and tell them she died (sorry for your loss) provide them with a death cert if necessary. Legally unless your name was on the credit cards you are not responsble for them.

you dont have to pay it, we went threw the same thing with my ex mother in law. they cant sew the dead and enless your name is on there you are not responsible to pay it. the credit card company just looses that money. dont let them tell you different. even a back stabin lawyer who wants you to pay him will tell you that you are no libable.
