Yes it will they cannot stand the smell of mothballs and will also keep several insects away.

Try a open bar of strong smelling soap. Like Irish Spring or something. That has always worked for me and the clothes don't smell funny when you open the packaging. I usually pack one or two bars in one of those heavy duty bags, suck the air out with the vacuum and seal the bag away. No bug, no mice, no funky mothball smell.

Lavender and cedar are also natural, good smelling repellents.

It will- but you will probably have to get your clothes dry cleaned to get the smell out come time to wear them again. I use to do this and then I invested in those bags that you can buy at Target/Walmart- that are several layers of plastic and you put your clothes in and then attach your vacuum and bam it sucks the air out and your clothes are safe from animals and the elements and it takes up hardly any room at all- worked great for all my daughters baby clothes I didn't want to get rid of!
