I need some images for a independent study and was wondering if there was any good, free images so I would not have to pay for anything

Nasa has loads of free satellitte images. But what resolution do you need? Because different sttellites take immages at different resolutions for different reasons. Such as the thematic mapper images at a 30M resolution or quickbird at 1.5 meter

The Google Earth download is GREAT!!...

Local Live has older pictures http://local.live.com/ if you would like to see your location in the past (the picture for MY area is about 12 years old).
