Women do not 'allow' for this to happen, it happens to them. Countries in which it is practiced varies depending on political factors and even these varies in the regions of the country. If this has happened to your girlfriend, she has been a victim of a horrific crime that is an outcome of patriarchy. Wow! Actually turned out to be a good question. Found some interesting things looking up info on this subject. Didn't know it was in practice in the US until 1950 to treat things like lesbianism and epilepsy.

To answer your ?, tho: Women don't let this happen. It's done most often when a girl is very young between the age of 10 and 12. Parents seem to be having it done when the girls are much younger to avoid government interference and " trauma "

26 out of 43 countries in Africa practice this brutality. It's practiced in places like Somalia, Malaysia, India, Egypt, UAE, etc.

An Indian girl has no choice...it is something that her parents chose for her. I saw a show on television about an Indian Woman who had her clitoris removed. I cant remember all the details, but she went to a doctor and surgeon rebuilt her clitoris. The operation was considered a success, although it couldnt be guaranteed. Maybe your girlfriend needs to go and see her doctor and see if there is anything that can be done for her.

In a lot of countries women are thought of as servants, they are not considered human. Men in their culture have all the rights...the women have none. That is how they are bought up to believe...It has been a custom that has been happening for hundreds of years and is still happening. I know there have been activists fighting for the rights of woman trying to get this mutilation of a woman stopped legally.

Ouch - I have heard of this and I do not think these women have a say in the matter. The practise of female genital cutting is deeply disturbing to talk about, discussing it is important. Every day, in countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, as many as 6,000 girls risk undergoing this painful procedure. The consequences for their health and emotional well-being can be severe. I think lack of eduction and ignorance result in this practise. Just glad I live in Canada.

this is done to women so they don't experience any kind of pleasure during sex, the theory is that a woman will most likely be a virgin when she gets married if FGM is performed on her

women in India don't have much choice.

Cutting off their clits is like cutting off the head of your dick.

If your girlfriend has a cut clit and can't expience orgasm or pleasure then I'd dump her cause she is damaged goods. no fun at all for her means no fun for you either.

that sucks. The people that did this should be sued have all their assets confiscated, then taken out have have thier ***** cut off.

what good for the goose is good for the gander. (punishement fits the crime).
