There was turmoil across the nation after the 'nude' portrait of Bharat Mata, drawn by M F Husain was released. Patriots protested against the denigration; but not a single Muslim came forward to say, the least, that anti-national Husain should be punished.
This is a question to those who say that Muslims who do not sing 'Vande Mataram' are also patriotic, and to the Indian Muslims who created a havoc on the 'Muhammed cartoons' issue of Denmark - where did your patriotism vanish when Bharat Mata was being depicted in the nude?

What do you want, that a mad man has done something to gain negative attention and we should solve his purpose? The best way to deal with such persons is to ignore them. Does his portraying Mother India nude, means that mother becomes nude. You sound so childish. Because he has portrayed Bharat Mata nude so you have got the right to support wrong done against them. Why don't you understand that he is a single individual not the entire Muslim community? If they are silent that doesn't mean they are supporting a mad man because he is Muslim. Perhaps they too want to ignore this issue to avoid controversy.
Please don't raise these types of questions, which create a gap between Hindu and Muslims. We all are human being, come here to live on this earth for a short while. What is the use of burning your heart with hatred when you can grow the flowers of love, which will spread its fragrance in the whole wide world? Don't make this earth a hell by spreading hatred. I want them to love us and for that I am trying my best to love them. Not all of them are M F Hussian. Don't forget Mohammad Rafi, Ustad Bismilla Khan, Rahim Khan, RasKhan, APJ Abdul Kalam..... also belong to Muslim community. Why don't you go out in search of goodness in place of finding the shortcomings? It's not difficult to become a great person......just learn to forgive and forget.

Quite the opposite in fact. Children benefit from being allowed to see the naked human form. There is considerable evidence to suggest that a prudish attitude towards the naked human body does considerable harm to children sometimes resulting in psychological disorders such as anorexia. It has also been shown that the more prudish a nation, the higher its teenage pregnancy rate. Teach a child that nudity is shameful and they will be ashamed of their own body. Obvious really. Making out that the naked human body (one of which every child owns) is shameful is child abuse. It is normally the children of the most prudish parents who grow up with the most hang-ups about their bodies. Nudity in art is never sexual, if it were it would pornography, not art. I will leave you with two famous quotes: Pope John Paul II, possibly inspired by the Sistine chapel ceiling, once wrote: "The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve intact its splendour and its beauty... Nakedness as such is not to be equated with physical shamelessness... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person...The human body is not in itself shameful... Shamelessness (just like shame and modesty) is a function of the interior of a person." And, of course, the artist responsible for that ceiling as well as 'David', Michelangelo, is responsible for this most famous quote: "What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot recognise the fact that the foot is more noble than the shoe, and skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed?"

Look if you have a personal rant against Muslims, join the RSS or Shive Sena, for God's sake!

All ancient Indian temples depicted the Gods and Goddesses in nude (and in what some would say compromising positions as well!) - Khajuraho, Konark, etc - and these are called our heritage! So hy should those artists be praised and Hussain be damned?
Art is art and has no religion or race.

Patriotism is as dangerous as religion. It gives authority to attack others in the name of sectarian thoughts. Muslims have Islam as their first priority everywhere. Indians got first priority as India. Christians got Christianilty as their first priority and Americans got America as their first priority. All are wrong. It divides. It attacks, It leads to war.

To gain a balanced response to your question, why not put it in the India section, as many people in the UK and Ireland haven't a clue what you're talking about!
