i'm having trouble controlling a student that affects other students' behavior - like a domino effect. i can't touch him (to carry) when he refuses to have a time out. what are other strategies that i can do to help him decrease misbehaviors? and i AM firm, it's just that he knows i can't touch him. is "ignoring" him okay?, what are other suggestions i can do?

Escalate the problem to the principal. That's what's he's there for. Remove him from the classroom, there is no reason why one student should take away from the entire class and monopolize all your time.
