Chamberlain is 42, and is not a 'current' player, as he has not made a Watford appearance this season.
Thus it's Teddy Sheringham, who was 40 years, 182 days when he played against Reading on Sunday (1 October 2006).

You said Player so the oldest Football Player in the Premiership is, Edward Paul Sheringham D.O.B. 2nd April 1966, Teddy started his career aged 16 at Millwall fc in 1983 Eight Football Clubs later he moved to West Ham fc in 2004, up to end of last season Teddy had played a massive 698 games of Football and scored 270 Goals in 23 years. Not counting his England period from 1993 to 2004 and 51 games of Football and 11 Goals. Had you wanted a Goalkeeper I would have said Alec Chamberlain D.O.B. 20th June 1964 he started aged 17 with Ipswich Town in 1981 Seven Clubs later up to 1996 Alec moves to Watford fc after 25 years and playing a massive 677 games as Goal-keeper up to 10th September 2006 and is still playing.

It is currently Teddy Sheringham, but the Southampton goalie John "Budgie" Burridge is the oldest player ever to play in the premiership at 43.

Big old Teddy, a legend within his own right, and the extraordinary thing is that he has always been virtually at the top level for the majority of his career.
