Of course it is, unless you are a **** like George W. Hitler. The problem is not Venezuela, the problem is the American government who like to control everybody, and as a Fascist government in disguise they are directly threatened by a genuine Socialist (or people's) government in Venezuela, given that they spent 40 years and billions of dollars destabilising democratizing socialist governments in Latin America because they refuse to pander to US business interests. They helped install military governments in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Brazil which meant the overturning of democratically elected socialist governments. The message is, you can only have democracy if it suits US business. The US a promoter of democracy? Ha F*cken Ha that is a joke. The US a democracy? Ha Ha that's even funnier!! It pretends to be a democracy to avoid being seen as a right wing fascist republic. Remember Chile 1973. CIA gives Pinochet the go to overthrow and kill the moderate socialist government of Salvador Allende. And guess what? Pinochet is now an indicted criminal.

I always check here before I travel to foreign countries.
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html
It lists travel advisories and other useful info. The more prepared you are for your trip the safer you will be.
As far as "is it safe"... I my mind safety is relative. With that said, I would currently travel to Venezuela.

nicely no.. Caracas is surely not risk-free. especially in case you haven't got any thought what's occurring and how each and everything works. in case you prefer to be risk-free and comfortable and rather relish your stay i prefer to propose you do not stay too long in Caracas. you will desire to in all likelihood circulate to Margarita Island. it is the main secure place for turists. the ambience is rather comfortable and there are turists all around. collectively as on Margarita Island you additionally can capture a ship to close by Coche island that's additionally very risk-free and appealing and relaxing. there's a great inn that has each and everything risk-free and countless. you will fairly relish it. there are a number of different appealing places like Canaima, Morrocoy, Mochima, Los Roques, and so on and so on. the only i might propose to you and your toddler is Los Roques because of the fact it rather is risk-free and the journeys are not see you later and tiring. in case you will desire to stay in Caracas you would be ok as long as you're on your inn or with somebody who's often occurring with what they are doing. the only places i think of that are risk-free and somehwat turistic could be the procuring centers, eating places and el teleférico. Caracas heavily isn't the region to wander off or undertaking into the unknown, especially with slightly baby if that's what your asking. yet i think of you will desire to circulate to Margarita and Coche for constructive.

No where is "safe" anymore. Just be sensible is in what you do, what you wear and where you go while you are there.
Ask the locals about trouble spots. Don't go off alone, especailly at night.
