What are the consequesces that the scientists say we will have if we don't act now? Do you believe that Earth will die sooner than it would and should of?

The Earth will live on. Various species will adapt to the new conditions - whatever they may be.

Us humans, on the other hand, won't be so fortunate. On a truly global sense - what goes around comes around ;-)

The Earth no, the human species yes. Fish miles below the surface of the oceans would survive. Everything else would perish. If scientist predictions come true, the planet will be awash in ocean water because of the melting ice caps. Those ice caps in the north and south poles are the largest geographical regions in the world.

I agree with Grendle...to an extent. True WE are dying, but so is nature. In the year 2000...(or 1998..I forget) I think the projection was that we have enough energy sources for only 100 more years (except nuclear sources)...but at the rate energy is being used, we may as well cut it down to 80...it is true that we are trying to save energy sources ( and reduce pollution) by using high-end technology, like electric cars or air-driers instead of papertowels (or ethanol, or natural alcohol instead of other fuel sources to conserve energy. But the amount of energy expended to run air-driers makes up for the 'lost' pollution of papertowels, we will probably use more fuel 'making' ethanol QUICKLY to meet energy demands. ) So yes, indeed we are killing ourselves. But one must remember that we are the most reluctant (and apparently inteligent) of all species, therefore we are not going to give up, even if we need to take habitats away from other organisms (it's a dog eat dog world). Of course, with the influence of vvarious environmentalists, that will probably be our last resort, but yes we will kill earth (beginning with its energy resources) quite quickly. Unless we ttap into our nuclear energy resources, the period following 150-250 years from now will see much riot in nature's balance (and hence earth's).

Since humans know how to harness the earth's resources, they will do so to keep their race alive...it's a natural obsession, life over death. And this knowledge allows humans to control it. So yes, we probably won't be around (in fact, we difinitely won't be around) to see any disruption, but future humans will have a heck of a time.

I believe a lot has to be learned from the film "The Day After Tomorrow"
The Earth will survive and mankind may survive just not in the way we currently live

Scientist predicted that the earth life is for another 5 billion years. Any how don't worry we will not be here when the earth dies.

The earth will remain forever... the things in the earth won't, well at least not all of the things.

Oh, the Earth isn't dying.
We are.
The cockroaches and slime molds and such are doing just fine, thanks.
