in society today people choose to live together due to lack of real commitment to each other. People are afraid of the commitment due to emotional baggage possibly from prior relationships failing. Many couples live very happily without the benefit of the marriage committment.

Some people choose not to marry right at the present time. They decide to move in together and see how it works first. I would do that because I would make sure that the relationship is going to work.. Cause when you get married its suppose to be for better or worse til death do us part. Not very many relationships last forever and it cost to get a divorce......

Guys do not want to make a commitment and end up paying child support and alimony. They want to be able to get out of the relationship with no strings attached. Being married means there is a commitment to make sacrifices to keep the relationship together despite any hardship or obstacle. Consider a prenuptial agreement.

Living together provides an "easier out" than marriage. Personally, I wouldn't accept a long term living together situation as I don't feel the commitment (to make things work through thick and thin) is as strong.

Been married before the woman changed as soon as the ring went on her finger. The woman I live with hasnt changed and we have been cohabitating for ten years. There is something in wedding cake that allows a woman to change.

Relationships rarely last forever, and its a waste of money and effort to go through the whole marriage part just to get a divorce sometime later in the future.

Marriage is just a word it doesn't mean much at all. Just that your legally stuck with that other person, and no one likes to feel trapped.
