Don't take those cold medicines, it will only you do you more harm than good. The best way to cure a cold is take natural remedies like ginger and honey. But there is a proper way of preparing this (ginger & honey) and how much you have to take in a day depending on your weight. I always try this and my cold gets cured in less than 3 days. I consulted a ND (Naturopathic Doctor) and he gave me a good advice that really helps me not only with my cold but with my other ailments. It does really work. This ND has a online consultation. Try it. Check this website: www.design2heal.com

I watched This Morning wiht Richard & Judy a few months ago and they had a doctor on the show who said if you have a cold and you take vitamin c tablets you can get rid of it within 12 hours! He said you can't overdose on Vitamin C as after 6 hours it disspears so you need to keep your levels up and that will boost your immune system. He recommended taking vit c, then after 6 hours taking more. Its no good taking the one a day vit c like it says on the bottle cos after 6hrs its gone. Id say 2 tablets every 6 hours. I do it whenever i even sneeze once just in case!

Try taking 1000mg vitamin C with zinc daily all year round as this is a good preventative as it boost the immune system. Also include garlic and ginger in your diet, they have antibiotic properties and boost the immune system - prevention is better than cure. Also drink loads of water to flush the virus through the body as quickly as possible.

There is no cure you can only treat the symptoms. The cold has to run its course.

As for treating the symptoms so that you are n more comfortable, it is personal choice what works for one does not always for the other.

Sorry not what you wanted to hear.
