had no prior symptons just jerked a cupple of times i had my foot on the gas wouldnt go, the van seems to be locked up? will roll if not turned all the way on in neatural. im hopeing dont have to replace the tranny PLEASE HELP?

If it's an automatic, the torque converter could be locked up. If it's a standard trans., it could be the transmission or clutch.
Hard to say without additional details.

This sounds like a linkage difficulty, you have bent a rod in case you ran over some thing or basically lost a cotter key that holds a linkage joint mutually. flow slowly below it and verify it out.
