Sutra-Sanchalak.
Sutra-Dhar,
or Mejbaan(Host)

If Ur looking for a person who is communicating with the audiences in the play to give them idea of what is going on, then "Sutra-Sanchalak" is the RIGHT WORD.
"It actually means the person is co-ordinating with the Audiences."

Narrator in Hindi mean varNanaKarta (Varnan - Narration and Karta - One who do).

Without any offensive:

Words given my other friends though nearly mean narrator but are bit different:

turbinator > Not heard of that word
Upanyasak > Novelist
Shikshak > Teacher

Sutra-Sanchalak > Episode Coordinator
shanchalak > Coordinator
Sootradhaar > Director
pavak(r)ktta > Spokesperson
