I have a Hotpoint Electronic 1000 Plus washing machine. Just recently, when I (well, ok the girlfriend...) use it, the clothes come out very hot and smell like they haven't been washed properly.
Any ideas please. My girlfriend is going crazy about it!
Thanks.

The washing machine works as normal: the water drains away ok, it's just that the clothes are very hot and very wet but don't seem as clean as they should be.
Normally, the clothes are cool and just damp after the cycle.
Thanks for answers so far.

Sounds like your drain is blocked OR the pump does not work so the water is not draining properly.
Have you checked that the drum actually turns?

I had this problem, your washing machine is probably an eco friendly one where the water is recycled on certain parts of the wash program
These machines have 2 pumps one that recycles the water(which is where the filter is) and a drain away pump.
On my machine the drain away pump worked but the actual blades on the pump were slightly loose, so although everything 'seemed ok' , not all the water was draining away properly because of this the water got recycled, hence it was still hot and dirty! new drain away pump sorted it £16 approx and i changed myself and I'm a girl lol

Read the instruction book - clean the entire machine thoroughly including removal and cleaning of all filters. If this does not resolve the problem try the Hotpoint website.

you would attempt operating a good bleach answer by it, and then keep the lid/door open between makes use of - feels like you've mould starting to be. The smell can connect itself to particular fabrics better than others. Are you utilizing a the front loader? Are you utilizing HE detergent? utilizing accepted soaps in the front loaders motives too a lot sudsing and is the important rationalization for mould.

the problem with your washer is that the bushes in your motor r worn down so the hot water in coming into the machine and the motor is not turning because the bushes r low you need a new set of bushes which r about 18 pounds a set

Are they also wet? If not then there is no water going in, if so then the programme isn't picking up the washing powder/liquid.
You will need an engineer I'm afraid I bet the control unit is bust.

Check the fab. soft. dispenser. It may be clogged w/ "gunk". Also- what type of detergent do you use? If you're using a cheap, generic brand, those often don't clean well. My husband and I tried to go cheap and buy off-brands, and our clothes started smelling horrible!! Now, we just use Gain Joyful Expressions (I think that's what it's called- that apple mango tango stuff-it smells soooo good!)

could be one of 2 reasons your hotwater value is closing properly or the heating element isn't turning off this could be a timer problem you may have to get a new timer be careful but when the wash is finished see if the inner drum is hot if it is its the heating element and you will need an engineer
