I think he sacrifices his career for his image. Like it is odd at the moment that he says he likes to sit on the Real madrid Bench. But he must know if he sits and watches games most of the time, thats doing nothing to get back into the England squad. I think its his pride, he cannot admit Real was a mistake in his career.

For people that seem bent on thinking ill of a man that they don't know personally, he sure seems to get a lot of your time and thought..hmmm...
For the record, I am absolutely sick and tired of people speculating about his death which is macabre waste of time, although I am reminded of Mark Twain, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated".
And as to something being not right about him, while it is easy to imagine that all of these snippy remarks are the result of envy for a man possessing above-average looks and the worst of all sins a great deal of fame and money, it seems mean-spirited to call into question his sexuality and his mental state.
Indeed it seems even more vicious when you take into consideration the fact that he has taken his relegation to the bench of Real Madrid with tact and class. Not once has he released a defamatory statement to the press or thrown tantrums in clubs or bars, he hasn't been found slumped over his car due to intoxication or abuse of drugs like some other Englishman we might mention. In response to his release from the England squad, he didn't abuse McLaren or whine to the tabloids, and has taken all of his recent blows with a remarkable humility.
I for one, look forward to seeing what David Beckham's next move will be...

There has always been something not right or odd about him. I think he's a guy whose work ethic, professionalism and personal style has gotten him much farther in the sport than his one-dimensional skill should have. There are reasons to praise him for his career and also reasons to look at him and say, "how odd that this player should have been the captain of England"...

I think he is probaly quite a normal guy stuck in some very unusual situations. How would you cope with the media frenzy that follows his whole family all day every day!! Now he is being polite about being benched for 4 games. He is on show every hour! I have some sympathy for him. Wouldn't have married Vicky either!!!

Hes weird, but he HAD an awesome right foot back in the days of Man Utd. Shame he left and sold out, but oh well, most footballers are doing that nowadays.
