how do I remove prior search words?

my list of prior search words is getting too big! I want to clear them out and start over...

Erase your internet cache, and I'm not sure exactly, but erasing cookies might be helpful too. But be careful, you might need your cookies for remembering passwords.

Go to Tools - Internet Options - Content - Autocomplete - Clear Forms

Well depends. If you're using IE go to TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then under GENERAL click "Clear History"

If your using Firefox go to TOOLS then click "Clear Private Data"
