You poor thing! Okay, there is a wonderful product, Seven, can be used in or out to kill anything that moves. Outside, just until it rains, then you have to apply again. Inside, sprinkle Seven in corners, and on the problem area. It sounds like something crawled under your carpet and layed the eggs.

Or, if you do not want to go the hard bug-killer route, you can use Borax, found in the laundry soap department of the grocery store. Borax is great for fleas, also, sprinkle it on the carpet, then broom-brush it in real good, and you will never have fleas or any other bugs, moths, etc. (Florida fleas are the biggest, so have that experience.)

Then, I would put a new bag in my sweeper and try to get as much up as you can, then immediately throw the bag away. Good luck to you, and believe me, this can happen to anybody. Please do not blame yourself. I think this was just a one-in-a-million freaky thing that has happened.

I've heard Borax will kill flies and maggots in the trash bin. I have not tried it yet, only ant and fly spray. I'd try sprinkling Borax on the carpet and leave it there maybe 30 mins. to an hour and then vacuume well. Then I'd clean the carpet with Odoban. I buy it at Sam's club. It kills bacteria and smells. Someone must have gotten food down in the carpet--maybe accidentally from the kitchen trash when taken out. It doesn't take very long for a fly to lay eggs in some jucy bit of meat or grease and produce a ton of maggots. Best of luck to you. Do something fast or your house will be full of flies!

Good lord iI feel for you!! They are vile things.. First get out a shop vac if u got one and go to town. if not i would get a regulart vacume and carefully slowly suk em out.. Maggots are for what ever reason pretty tollerent to alot of chemicals and can take a good while to die when sprayed. The problem is by that time they have crawled all over the place, and those basterds are fast... I suspect that they infact did start in the kitchen but migrated under the carpet as they look for dark cool areas.. Bleach is my perfered chemical but it will damage the carpet.. If you can pull up part of the carpet and try to suck em out but dont be seprized if they have allready reach quite a distance... Indoor pestised will work for the carpet but i wouldnt relie soly on it to kill them.... If u use a shop vac u can put a rag soaked in bleach in it to kill the ones u suk up and possable could do the same to the other, or just emediatly toss the bag into another then tie shut... I really feel for you!! Best of luck... Probable wouldnt hurt to rent a carpet cleaner after yoy get dead.. Home depot gotz em for like 20$ rental... Thats what I would do but like I said I HATE THOSE THINGS!!!

Maggots are the result of Flys laying eggs, Vacumn the area, and pull back the carpet and make sure none are under there, mop the Kit floor with bleach and Vinegar, rent a Carpet cleaner, and clean the whole carpet- you don't need any potent insecticide. they won't be back- Never leave garbage in the house when you leave town. You might get Roaches next time.

One does not have to be dirty to have those disgusting things in your home. I have a very clean home, and one day this obnoxious fly came in, I couldn't catch it, it wouldn't land and I didn't see if for 2 days. Well, that disgusting creature laid eggs by my window sill on the tile not anywhere near garbage. No old garbage, no food on the floor. I don't know if this thing just had to lay the eggs, had no way out and bam! They are DISGUSTING creatures and some sprays won't kill them. The one thing that I poured on them was pure cedarcide oil. That night, I also noticed a dead scorpion and centipede from this oil. It does work great and it's non toxic to animals and humans. It's great for poisonous snakes and spiders also. Now, on some it did take a little longer to die but they all did in the end!

do not wait for them to leave by themselves.. thats crazy. call an orkin man or other professional in your town. In the mean time keep your floors super clean with carpet cleaners on the carpets and bleach on the tile. You don't want to be leaving them food after all.

Call the exterminator and see what type of treatment they recommend. Then I suggest you steam clean the heck out of the all the carpets in the house.

Find the source where they are coming from and if no just vacuum them up plus just keep your eyes open for the stragglers and in due time they will leave by themselves.
