I think anybody with some degree of morals is disgusted.

I am not so sure that it was *common* knowledge though. there were certainly those who knew but I don't know how common it was.

I will say this, Republican or Democrat, neither side is innocent from covering up indiscretions of their party members to insure political dominance. It's a sad world when the men and women we elect to represent us dishonor themselves and our country by fulfilling their own perverted fantasies and then hide behind excuses of some type of addiction to try and justify it. They should be held to a higher level of accountability. The laws should be broader and more severe where they are concerned. Maybe then they would think twice about what it is they do.

At the very least this guy should lose all his benefits afforded him for the time he served as a Representative. He should be sued by the American public stripping away any financial gain he will enjoy as a former elected official and his citizenship should be called into question.

This would all take passing legislation to make higher accountability laws though. guess who it is that ultimately passes these laws? The Representatives.

I suppose we could put it on the ballots ourselves though.

Not a reason to abandon your political party. It doesn't make Republicans pedophile supporters.
You can be sure the Democratic party kept their knowlege of Foleys actions under wraps for months...to be released at a time that will best assist their campaign strategies.

I am a Democrat, that being said. I still do not blame all republicans for the actions of one. Lastnight I got a little heavy on one poster, that was comparing him to Bill Clinton. Last night on tv there was some republican claiming the republicans didn't know anything about this.
