First of all, London is not a country.

It would depend on the city in USA. Even if a job in London pays 2 x the salary of a job in most US cities, you cannot hold the same living standard because London is a very expensive city (I mean $7 for a beer in an average bar expensive, not to even think about apartment rent.)

You have to look at the overall picture. I'd rather have $60k in Chicago than $120k in London.

According to me, it depends of many factors. First you should consider the buying power and not salary as said previously, London has become tremendously expensive.
Marketing (except in a few particular industries) does not pay so well in UK, so I would better suggest working in the US. I see many jobs starting at somewhat 20-25k£ for a beginner which would translate in about 25-30k$.
On the other side, for accounting I would prefer London. In Uk, there are plenty of accountants, instead of the lawyers that you have in US companies. So many good opportunities.

salaries and wages in the UK are higher if you consider the exchange rates between both countries, but the cost of living is generally lower in most U.S cities than it is in London and most English towns and cities, bearing that in mind, I am of the opinion that pursuing a career in that chosen field in the US will be more beneficial. Pound for pound, the UK pays more, but the cost of living is relatively lower in the US than the UK. Other factors to consider is the convenience of the public transport system and accessibility to places and work.
