It seems most people only want to do whats right if its easy and won't cost too much time or energy. They want an end to terrorism but don't want to fight for it. They want safer neighborhoods but won't support law enforcement or stronger sentences for repeat offenders. It seems people would rather be popular then actually take a stand even if it is politicaly incorrect. Or am I the only one that thinks that?

People WANT what's right, but they usually only DO what ever is easiest. This is because most people are bottlers who put on an image to meet life with, rather than trusting themselves to be able to cope with whatever life brings!

Most people want what's right, but want 'the other guy' to take care of it. Then you have that slice of society which actually does the work of righting all the wrongs. The guy who picks up something that someone else has dropped; the gal who tells another that their clothing is askew. These people are involved, where most people are not. These are also the people screaming for a better government. The fact that the US is in the state that it is, is a product of the majority do-nothings that don't get involve.

They want what works. But that has to be tempered with what is ethical, within reason.

Nature wants what works, but is not constrained by what is ethical.

As for your last question, yes, you are the only one who thinks that. Thinks what? No, you are not the only person who thinks that; you may be the only person who thinks something or other, but not that. As a matter of fact, I venture to say that you do not even know what it is that only you think. There is likely something which only you think but you don't know what, do you? Am I boring you? If you were reading this, yes; but no, since you are not reading it.

I must admonish you for not reading my cogent and erudite reply.

I agree. Even parents complain about kids today, refusing to believe that the parents are at fault.

Many people do get things done, but most of them are motivated by a lust for power or riches.
