I never thought that i was a people pleaser i just thought i was a me pleaser but it appears that i always want people to enjoy being around me and subconciously find it hard to say no to people or to be assertive and stand up for my self

Work on asserting your own boundaries, desires and needs. Good relationships are all about balance, not about one person doing all of the giving while others do all of the taking. Think about your own feelings and practice offering those as your alternative. In other words, you don't have to just say no, you can say, no, I think I would rather do this instead. That puts the ball in the other person's court and in most every situation they will consider your alternative, accept it, or at least, start to negotiate with you. That's balance. :)
