get some stuff called Brasso - it comes in a can. its some type of cloth with a very light solvent in it and is used primarily for polishing jewellery or delecate ornaments made of glass or precious metals.

use it gently though as it acts as an abrasive if you press hard. its also good at getting light scratches out of car paintwork

if you dont want to try that - you can always try shoe polish - i'm not joking - it works in a very similar way - its a very very light abrasive which will polish out scratches

Try T-cut which is used on high gloss car bodywork to polish out light scratches.
