I was also worried about this. I'm 33 weeks now and my baby is moving about all the time, even the dr said that he could see on the ultrasound that she's particularly active. But he says it doesn't bear much relation to your baby's temperament once he/she is born.
It could be that the baby will be on the active side (I find that hard to believe in our case, since my husband and I are such couch potatoes lol!) but there's no need to worry about this for now. Your baby is not moving around because he's demanding, because all his needs are being met right now. He's just moving around, sometimes while asleep. You may find that he'll be a busy sleeper, i.e. he'll be more likely to kick off his swaddling blanket than another baby while sleeping, for example.
I think major sleepless nights come with the territory anyway, no matter how busy your baby is!

According to the Antenatal Home Care Nurses who come see me a couple of times a week, it doesn't nessicarily mean the baby will be active when born. However, it is a GREAT sign that the baby is healthy. Baby will likely be strong, not under weight and healthy when born. Do your fetal movement counts once in a while. Its 10 movements in 2 hours to be "ok", ACTIVE is frequently getting 10 in under 15 minutes while under 32 weeks... I usually get 10 in under 5 minutes, I know how you feel!

My son was extremely active in the womb. He was a terrible sleeper when he was a baby. We had many many sleepless nights. Now, at the age of 5, he is still very fidgety and rarely sits still for a moment but goes to bed no problem. Invest in some good fleecy pyjamas so if junior is extremely wiggly at least he/she won't get cold when they wiggle their way out from the bed clothes!! Good luck.

My baby was very active in the womb, but when born he was very quiet and peaceful. He's now 7 months old and is once again active, I can't keep up with him at the moment!!

No not at all. What it usually means though is that you have a healthy placenta that is feeding your baby lots of nutrients and oxygen. Later on in the pregnancy you will be asked to keep an eye on your babies movements as these are a sign of placental health. If a placenta is not functioning adequately your baby will move less to conserve the energy for growth and to keep it alive. So enjoy those movements.

No, my baby was running a marathon in my womb, but he is a contented baby, active during the day, but sleeps like a baby at night. So relax.

Not at all. My bub was a fidget monster in the belly and she is an active kid but in all the right ways, running playing and laughing. Mind you she still wriggles for England in her sleep. Try rubbing your belly or play some music. My daughter loves music and sports. She also suffered terrible hic-ups in the belly one of the most amusing things. She slept right through from 5 weeks old, I wouldn't worry.
good luck

Maybe worth looking at what you're eating and drinking. Check for caffine (tea, coffee, coke, chocolate) or sugars as these can affect the baby. Mine always went mad after I'd had a Mcdonalds milkshake - great for scans!!
Good luck
