Have you ever been tested for ADD or other learning disabilities? I have problems in math too and my reading level is post college. If you stick in there and do your best anything is posible.

Breathe!
I used to teach developmental math and many intelligent people were done in by their own fear. Most GED math actually makes sense. Take a step back and think about it. Make change for a dollar? You're using fractions. Go to a sale at the mall? 25% off? You're using percentages. Cut wedges of pie for dessert? Think radius of a circle. You KNOW how to do this stuff.
Do yourself one simple favor, though. MEMORIZE the multiplication tables...all 12 of them. When you know those answers right off the top of your head a lot of things look easier.
Have you tried GED classes at your local community college? There are usually interesting people from all over the world in those classes. Community Colleges also have lots of support services for students and self-paced learning labs. Take advantage of what they have to offer.
Good Luck!

Have you taken the test yet?
If you haven't i would suggest taking it.
Back in the day you could drop as low as 60% in one subject and still get one. There are study books available.
of course there is night school. Check with local community college also. They may have private tutors available.

Sorry to hear about the job. Shouldn't be so honest.
Tell them you have GED but you are waiting for the Certificate to arrive in the mail.

Have you tried tutoring? There are community programs out there offering free tutoring to individuals needing extra help in mathematics.
