this is so reminiscent of the time my son Daniel was about 20yrs and he would sit there in a day dream and think of very bizarre things his classic one which had the family in bits was "do you think a lion could kill a crocodile" this question had him pondering for so long he once woke up in the night to tell us all " a theory that he had" so once in awhile one of us will say in a typical Dan voice could a lion kill a crocodile?"
yes a think if Dan was to read this question it would give him a mini breakdown
my own theory is a gorilla doesn't live by lions does it? but if they did they could become mates like simba and pumba a cumma ma tata

Sure, under the right circumstances - a gorilla could kill a baby lion probably, or an older sick lion, or if the gorilla had a rock and was smart enough to use it as a weapon. But in a normal combat situation, I think the lion would serve up the gorilla on a plate to it's friends and go after it's family for more.

Gorillas live in dense rainforest; lions live in savannah grassland and semi-desert. So they'd never meet, let alone fight.

However, the much smaller leopard has been known to kill gorillas, though probably not full-grown males.

Lions tend to restict fighting to other lions (sometimes fatally), or rival predators like hyaenas (a lone lion can handle three or four of those but will back off from more). When they kill for food, they will try to use surprise, so the prey is in no position to fight until it's too late

I think the lion could only win if it gets the drop on the gorilla. If it can spring in and get its teeth into the gorilla's throat and hang on in there it could do it. Or maybe if it gets on the gorilla's back and tries to chew into its neck from behind and hangs in there long enough to weaken the gorilla.

But if the gorilla's ready and has its dukes up the lion has no chance. Then again the lion can outrun the gorilla so if the gorilla's the aggressor he'll have a job catching the puddy tat.

I don't think a lion would be stupid enough to risk taking on a full-grown gorilla unless it were really desperate, though. And it would try to find a baby one to pick on, and gang up on it with its mates. (That's buddies to you yanks.)

Lions might be over-rated but they are still more than capable of killing an unarmed human with ease. We are one of the physically weakest animals on the planet for our size.

Gorilla is definitely stronger. But he won't use his canines and talons as a lion would. It won't inflict injury on the lion.he can only strangle the lion to death,The lion will also find it difficult to get hold of Gorilla's throat due to Gorilla's size and thick mane.It will be a tussle between Gorilla's long and strong arms and the lion's speed and forepaws.
Probably the gorilla will drive the lion away.If they fight till the end the gorilla has more chances of overpowering the lion.

Wow, its a tough question to answer. The ape is much stronger, but a lion would never risk a fight with a full grown male Gorilla, its not worth the risk. If the Lion is hurt he would not be able to fend off other predators
that would see him hurt and attack him. The Gorilla is a very , very strong opponent.

A gorilla has great strength and even intelligence. If necessary, a fully grown gorilla can take on a lion.

I've heard of baboons killing lions. Baboons have huge teeth. I don't know about gorillas tho but it's possible. Apart from elephants, rhinos and hippos, you might think lions can take on anything. Not necessarily true. Ostriches can kick the sh*t out of them. Those nasty *ss hyenas are notorious enemies of lions. Also one kick from a giraffe can kill a lion. They don't like to mess with healthy, full-grown buffalo either.
