Stop thinking in that direction. It would create social issues to you and legal issues would prop up in future. Let him divorce the first wife and then do whatever you wish to. Take the case of a famous singer who had to accept her first wife. Play safe and act smart. Do not devote your time on it. First and foremost is the divorce.
I think your bf has proposed you to marry status quo.

Its a dumb question. A relation can break between 2 people because of thousand reasons but can work with 1 reason. U should know better whether it will work with him or not. First of all find out y did the first wife leave him. If u think it was not his mistake ask him to get a divorce, and for ur own sake be a legal wife not illegal. As they r not living together aymore the divorce should not be an issue at all. don't put ur future generation into problems because if ur man doesnt get a divorce they would be called illegitimate. if he loves n wanna hav a life with u ask him to get the bloody divorce first. try this. if he does this for u then u ll hav a fab life otherwise chuck him out of ur life.

I was married for 3 years before my ex husband and I divorced out we spent 3 seperated since he did not want to pay for the divorce I am just wait on the court date to make the divorce final ( I hope it's soon.)

It's NOT LEGAL. You can't marry a person that's already married. They must FIRST get a DIVORCE....then you can get married.
That person can go to prison for attempting to be married to two people at the same time.
It shouldn't be that hard for him to get divorced sense she left over four years ago and he can prove they have been living separate and apart. But if he hasn't done it in four years...doesn't sound like he's really interested in doing it....

As per the Hindu law in India you can not marry a person who is already married unless he is legally divorced.
If you do it, your marriage will be void ab intio and the children which may be borne out of this relationship will not be having any legal right over the property of thier father.
Moreover your would be husband [ unlawful as per law] will also be facing charges of polygamy and he may lose his job also.
Therefore please take a decision which is beneficial to you.

Why should a women leave her husband in two months after marriage?Was she loving somebody else and left or was the husband having someother problem forcing her to leave.Only if you get satisfactorily answers for these questions you think of proceeding for marriage.

aside from trouble regarding legal matters, im pretty sure there are bachelors in your country. If you are really crazy for that dog, then at least let him file for a divorce. But if there is no divorce in your country, Girl... be confident enough to look for someone else and avoid yourself from S and T.. that'll be SIN and TROUBLE.

Dear Parvathi, ask him to divorce his first wife, otherwise, you are not at all considered for his wife, people and law looking you as a ***** (sorry). If he is not willing to do divorce, he is not truthful to you, get away from him.
