They are a simple waste of your valuable time. Instead of doing mundane stuff yourself you are watching some other average folks doing mundane stuff - how useless is that? By now everybody should have seen enough to be switching off, thereby sending the message to the TV stations that we want proper programs again... But the world doesn't work like that. LCD rules.

I think they have been cooked to death now. TV producers need to justify the licence that we have to pay so should put more money into making something entertaining to watch, not these tacky wannabees who will just embarrass themselves in the hope of being made famous. Bring back some quality tv.

Personaly I havnt watched any of the last three big brothers. I find reality TV to be far from real - it's plastic people putting a bunch of wannabee plastic folks in a plastic box for other plastic wannabees to watch. But then folks love junk food - it's the TV equivalent to a big mac, fulfilling for a few seconds but ultimately bad for you and bad for to socierty you're living in. Solution is not to watch them.

I like Hell's Kitchen, American Idol, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance. Some of them are corny, like the ones with celebrities. They need to go home and go to bed. Sweet dreams. The reality shows are for real people. Celeb's think they are in such demand....NOT

I hardly watch reality television these days.
I don't see the point in wasting time watching the lives of other people, with their little ego problems and gripes between each other while your life just goes by!

I like ones like americas next top model because it teaches me things I would never get the chance to see, but as for seeing Jo Bloggs at home rowing with his missus - well we can all see that at our local tescos. Its hardly riveting stuff.
I get the impression the sort of people who are nosey or like gossip would like them because they are prying into other peoples lives, but if you had a life of your own you wouldn't need to live your life through theirs so I think its popularity is due to people who haven't got the time or energy for a life of their own so they sit on the sofa watching other peoples.
I would much prefer to see acting on T.V. and not over acting.
Why not spend the money making great dramas or films. The shows today are crap and terrestrial TV is so rubbish, the only good TV is American.
That said, I like Spooks and Hustle. I love Q.I and a question of Sport. Overseas I like Kath and Kim it is hilarious. 24 and 4400 is superb. Every so often, the BBC or ITV bring out a one off like goodbye Mr Chips but even then its not everyones cup of tea.
I hate watching other people who want to show themselves up then get caught out by being on the Dole and claiming money from the programme, they do not realise that they are being set up to be publicly humiliated. Reality TV takes advantage of people who do not seem to realise this. Usually people below a certain intelligence level.
I will confess to finding Jade Goody amusing, but I am laughing at her, not with her. Its her ignorance and stupidity that makes me laugh because its harmless and comical and she isn't really hurting anyone and she appears to have a good heart and work hard for it, so good luck to her.
All in all, there is too much reality T.V. and it would be nice to have actors and actresses in the papers and magazines again. People we admire and want to be like and not those who we just want to slag off and take the piss out of.
Rant over ! ;0)

basically its the the concept with a name change and different contestants, who are all wannabe celebrities and i use that word in its wide term, cause now days anyone with a major personality disorder becomes a celebrity what is this obsession we have with reality TV, are our own lives really that sad?

Some of them I love, Big Brother was so addictive, I know it's rubbish but I love it!! Some of them were just awful though, especially if there are celebrities involved.

For some reason it shows the worst sides of people, they all seem so shallow and annoying. HOWEVER Joe Schmoe was hilarious.
