Faisal Iqbal will replace banned captain Inzamam-ul-Haq in Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad after the country received clearance from the International Cricket Council .
Inzamam picked up a four-match ODI ban at a hearing in London last week for bringing the game into disrepute. Under ICC regulations, teams are only allowed to replace injured players in their confirmed 14-man squads.

Aki: You completely miss the point there! The ONLY reason that you are allowed to substitute a player is if they are injured.

Vakayil: The ICC, as governing body, can change the rules. But they have not changed the rule, they have bent the rule for Pakistan, while it remains unchanged for all other participants in the competition.

Simple answer is "NO!".....rules are rules and although interpreation is important this is not one of those rules that can be interpreted any other way.

As a governing body, ICChas power to do so. Since they have not refused permission to any other country to replace the players under such circumstances the question of fairness does not arise.

Any team can take what number of players they like. India take 15 players in Malaysia tour. Australia take 18 players in Malaysia and W.I. take 14 players in Malaysia. So just think Pakistain take 15 players to India.

well havnt read the ICC rules n dont know much abt but one thing i know if inzi was banned for bringing game into disrepute , Hair was also gulity then, he should have been punished too :S

1st,ODI ban is itself was a wrongly decided by ICC He should be ban for Test Match only.
in that case there were no replacement, no changing rules. rite?

i think ur absolutely wrong...................... this happened before with a australian player........he was banned for 2 odi's and a player was replaced for him....understand !! so i don't think there is a rule like that.........

I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY SUCH RULE!
WHY WOULD THERE BE ANY RULE THAT PLAYERS CANNOT INJURED PLAYERS-
CUZ IF THE SKIPPER IS INJURED THEN SURELY SOMEONE HAS TO REPLACE HIM!
