Unless we give environmental impact the first concern on most, and preferrably all, issues, we will soon have an environment not worth having.

It's not too late to turn around what we've done to the environment. If we don't, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren aren't going to appreciate us and rightfully so.

don't you mean extracting energy concerns???global impacts can't deal with the energy of mother nature, we go with what comes around goes around and we are far from near the point of concerning our selves with the stress i grew up on the California beach and i got hot tar on me all the time from natural seepage in the earths crust and mantle area near the San Andrea fault. you think you could just go along with being well informed as the impacts are expressed to the public and not going to go away because of better handling it will only become more like 911 vandalism hot spots, nobody new they would try to bring us down with cheap shots but we are an unarmed country by choice and by the evils of man
in other news i read some guy shot a hole in the pipe line in Canada and 11,000,000 gallon got out before it, or the guy was taken to court for $11,000,000.00 spill costs i can't remember which?,was detected one 30-30 shot.
sleep well and find issue that will not render you hopelessly under imaginatively on the short end of it.

It isn't at the moment but I believe that as the seriousness of the situation finally dawns on the governments and people it will turn into a prime concern.

No, the environmental consequences should be weighed against the economic or other consequences. Always giving enviromental impacts the first concern is oversimplistic and unwise.
