does anybody know who starred in it and what year it was made?I believe the woman was a spy during WW2 and was tortured?

Virginia McKenna, it was a black&white film made in 1958, her name was ODETTE, it was a true story, I knew someone who trained her during the war.

It was made in 1958 and starred Virginia McKenna as the widow of a French officer, she was indeed a spy and died befor a German firing squad.
