He's one of my heroes.
While I admire Gandhi I do not agree with "baby" -Gandhi himself agreed that had he been fighting the communist instead of the British his policies would never have worked.

His role in the freedom struggle is a topic of controversy.
But who can overview that avtar? To be a Christian, you have to baptise. To be a Muslim, you have to perform Sunnath. To be a Hindu, you have to undergo a lot of rituals. Once you are a member of any of these groups, you find yourself tied to various customs and practises you are never able to explain. Definitely I'm not trying to equate any religion with Gandhism.
What are the threads hanging upon the present day life?
(1)Western (American) imperialism that they implement thru occupation and market economy.
(2)Growing Islamic fundamentalism and the consequent terrorism.
Be a simple Gandhian- you may not have heard of any Gandhi even once in your life time. It is in us. Our simple life, less cosumption, hatred towards none, respecting every simple life- be it human, animal, flora or just an algae, aknowledging the real human achievements and the real interaction with the Supream Power-meditation. We have solved all problems in this wolrd.
You needn't go to a huge building regularly, nobody will ask you to donate your hard earned ruppees, no fathwa, no segregation from the rest of the society for expresing your oppenion, no pollution, no famines (since you haven't extract what belongs to others) and what not! It may sound little outdated, but dear brother, we don't have another solution.

yes he did , he was a great leader i love him a lot n respect him, he was the man of honour n did wht he should have done, well i m not saying that only Ghandi or Muhammad Ali Jinnah brought us freedom.Definatly it was combined effort of muslims n hindus along with these leaders but good leadership always counts n thts wht Ghandi jee was... he was simply the great leader for india .

I don't think so, he made freedom late for us ,
Might be we would have got freedom much earlier.
He was the one who wanted nehru to be PM of india , instead Muhammmad Ali Jinnah have been the same , he was more deserving candidate then nehru and his dynasty.
If jinnah was to be our PM their was no pakistan -it was all india -hindustan
