I have a picture in my hard disc.Is it possible to make it my avator ? How?

well, just select the picture window.. or browse button in your profile and select the picture from your computer.. sometimes size does matter and you will be given notice of the same.. if thats the case then make the pic smaller by using the program which opens that pic on your comp... m not sure but all pic editors have resizing options...

Then just add that pic and save your profile setting.. you will have successfully put in your avtaar..

BUT WHY IS THIS QUESTION IN THE CRICKET SECTION AND NOT COMPUTERS?

YES IT CAN BE MADE!
FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE-
1.OPEN YOUR ACCOUNT ON MESSENGER AND THEN CLICK ON DISPLAY IMAGE AND BROWSE TO THE LINK OF YOUR PIC!
2.CLICK ON SELECT AS MY DISPLAY IMAGE!
3.WAIT FOR 4 HOURS AND THEN ALL THE SERVICES OF YAHOO THAT YOU USE WILL BE UPDATED WITH YOUR PIC

Here is a very good procedure to follow in order to get your own picture up here for all to see:

well, actually, there are 2 things you can do.
you can either A) put your own picture up, or B) put a cute little avatar up. I have instructions here for both!

If you don't have one, you need a 360 account for your own picture...
-- create your yahoo 360 account here: http://360.yahoo.com
--upload a couple of pictures to your 360 page
--it will ONLY accept Jpeg format!!
--from the top of your 360 page, click "my page"
--click "edit personal photos" (left side)
--click the "set as srimary" button next to the pic you want shown & click "save" (remember--JPEG format only!)
--go to your "my q & a" page on yahoo answers
--click "edit my info"
--now, click the middle bubble that says "use my 360 picture"

--click the avatar picture twice
--from here, you have a number of different things you can do.
A LITTLE SECRET:
if you look under places like halloween, and stuff under holidays, you can find pink hair, wings, unicrons, and so much more! so don't just skim the top...really look at the different tabs & sections!!
