What do you think he will give you without a fight? If you think he will give you the money, then take it, but the car might be easier.

Ask for the car and if he says no, start crying. Guys will do anything to escape a crying female.

That would depend on the type of marriage contract you have signed. If you are married in community of property, everything is split equally among the two of you. If you have an antenuptual agreement with accrual and you bought the car for him as a gift, then you can't do anything about it.

Is the car registered in your name? If so call the cops and report it nicked - ha ha!!

Other wise demand the return of the car or payment there of as part of the divorce settlement. The little boy needs to start paying for himself now.

well ask yourself how important it really is to get it back. is it worth all the hassle involved, if yes, then make that part of the divorce settlement, you get the car or the value of the car. you may struggle as its a gift from you to him and in the eyes of the law that's how it will be seen, but you could try to appeal to his better side and ask for a compromise, you get the car he gets something he wants.

Depends how much you like the car. If your not that bothered about it then it would probably be better to ask for the money, then you could buy a new one and neither of you has to do without one.

If you paid for the car outright, then it is a gift so why would you ask for the money? If you financed the car and it is in your name then it is your car - tell him to return it.

Unfortunately if the car was a gift then it remains his. If it is still being paid for then he will have to pay the remainder of costs.

I personally wouldn't ask for anything back, If my hubby left me I would want him to take all his stuff with him, it would have been bought and given for him unconditionally, not as a bribe to keep him, or his for as long as he is with me, a gift is a gift, let it be. Before you go around buying expensive gifts, be sure you really want to GIVE THEM.
