The Tube screamer was invented by Ibanez as a pedal to replicate the sound of an overdriven valve amplifier and has been used by alot of the great rock guitarists ever since. It can be modified or kept as the original and now even second-hand ones can cost hundreds of pounds.
If you're s serious rock player, this can be an invaluable pedal.
