I don't believe in abortions either but I agree with you in respect that population would be an issue. There again, how many of these abortions are because of rape victims. If a woman is raped then I think she has the right to decide whether or not to have an abortion.

Are world might not be over populated now, but most likely in the near future.. it will become over populated. Is that when abortion will be ok. You all look down on abortion now, but when there isn't anymore room left on this planet.. you will all look at it in a different way. Im pro-choice and it makes me sick that people out there have the right to say, abortions are wrong.. when they haven't even experienced one. You think a women actually feels good about getting an abortion done??.. sometimes its the only choice a women has.. its her body, and her life soo respect it. All you ignorant pro-life fools are just a bunch of ****** up people. Theirs millions of kids and babies dying from being starved to death, from war and abuse. Instead of standin outside an abortion clinic with you idiotic signs.. you should do some more useful with you time.. because those signs arent going to change a womens mind.

Well, the majority of people who answered this question appear to sincere idealists. It's not a good thing to have so many people walking around with those rose colored shades on. Perhaps, it's good for them that they cant grasp reality, maybe that helps them to deal with the horrors of the real world.

You can say that education will change things..but there just aren't enough educators to go around for the amount of people out there who will need it.

Yes, population would be a problem, because poverty and ignorance is a nasty cycle. Some break free, most don't.

There are droves of the unwanted children out there doomed to lives of poverty, drugs, violence, prostitution, and utter caos. Those women who you think would stop getting pregnant if abortion was made illegal, don't give a damn one way or the other. They will continue to get pregnant on there quest for drugs or alcohol, or whatever else it is that they need. Most of them have such deteriorated mental health, that they cant even begin to perceive the extent of damage they are doing to the children, to society, and to themselves. Alot of those women are not having abortions, they are having children, left and right, and those children are going straight into the system. Alot of them are labeled "crack babies". The young girls who get pregnant are having there babies and stuffing them in dumpsters, throwing them out of windows and off of bridges, mutalating them..some keep them and just don't take care of them.

Please don't use the reasoning that somebody out there will take these kids in. OH, that there are so many people who want babies, why would you have an abortion. Those "so many people" aren't crossing over to the dark side of the slums and the street corners. Those people aren't calling the DYFS's of Newark, those people aren't calling the CFS's of New york city or looking for the unwanted children of the hood. And what happens to those kids..some..few get out, others repat the viscious cycle, some grow up to be the person the rapes your daughter when she is on vacation visiting the most popular city in the world. You know that girl standing on the street corner spreading disease to the husbands who are JOHNS on the DL, she was one of those children, the guy that shoots to death the owner of the mom and pop store that was just about to retire. Those over crowded jails, who do you think is in there.

Everybody cares while the embyo is still in the womb...everybody needs something to stand up for, but then when those unwanted babies are born, where is all the activism and the compassion and the down right radicalism.

Wake up people, there is so much going on out there that you refuse to see. Maybe you don't want to see it. I don't blame you I guess, because it is ugly as hell, down right horrifying, and I gave you the sugar coated version.

I don't know if abortion plays into population control. I don't think that is it's intention. I do believe that if there weren't abortion we would go back to the 50's and 60's when we would hear about women who would attempt it on themselves and end up dead or mutilating their own bodies just not to have a baby. We would also see a huge number of illegal abortions done and in not safe conditions.
I believe you can not force a woman to have a baby she does not want to carry, or have. They will find a way to do this legal or not.

We wouldn't have population problem if people does not see sex as casual fun. And would take proper protection. If economies are handled properly.

If your going to see it differently if there is proper birth control or abstinence there won't be a need for 3,000 babies killed every day.

This is only my opinion, I'll say that before I answer....

I don't think we would, because all the women who have unprotected sex thinking "If I get pregnant, I can just have an abortion" and who are flippant about that sort of thing, would be much less likely to have sex like that.

I'm kinda holding back here, because I am very much anti-abortion, but I really don't like forcing my opinions on people and getting angry about things like that.

If people were better educated about safer sex and birth control, it wouldn't be a problem.

Every minute of every day, somewhere in the world:
* 700 people acquire a curable sexually transmitted infection
* 190 women face an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy

No ... people are having less babies these days. That's because birth control has become widely available within the past 40 years and women don't necessarily have to get married these days.

There would be a real serious population problem if the abortions stopped.
And what would be preferred... Abortion or Infanticide?
For those that don't know, Infanticide is the act of killing newborn babies to control the population.
