First editions dating from 1860s to 1920s. Who buys old books like these?

Look in the yellow pages under antique dealers, perhaps they can direct you to someone. If you don't know the value of the books yourself, try not to get scammed. They may be more valuable than the money offered to you. Go to a bookstore that sells used books and see if you see anything similar to what you have. Ask the price of the book and you can gauge your price-point.

Once you get an idea of what the dealer will pay you for them, you can put them on E-bay.

I love old books, so much history.

I buy old books like those, I am searching for a 1st edition of Milton's "Paradise Lost" with illustrations by Gustave Dore.

In fact, could you tell what books you have?

Appraisals may be hard to find depending on your locale. I do suggest antique dealers, librarians, and/or museums.
