platonic love is one of the most pure forms of love one being can offer another. Your dog or cat loves you in a platonic sense, your parents also love you platonically. A lot of people think the lack of sex is what makes a relationship platonic and that is only part of it. Platonic love is unconditional, it can be felt by people who don't even know you or the one you love
DEFINITION: platonic Transcending physical desire and tending toward the purely spiritual or ideal: platonic love

Platonic love in its modern popular sense is an affectionate relationship into which the sexual element does not enter, especially in cases where one might easily assume otherwise. A simple example of platonic relationships is friendship between two heterosexual people of the opposite sexes.

Platonic love means: "Love that is free from sexual desire". If there is no sexual desire it would seem to be just love in a friend way to me.

Platonic love is that of friends...nothing more. No loving, no romance...just good old decent friendship.
