Kobe already has 3 NBA rings and can play for another 14 years and possibly win 8 or more Championships. Is he better than Jordan with only 6 NBA rings?

Why is this questioned pondered so frequently on this site... Kobe isnt anything like MJ... ok lets do the Kobe versus Michael thing... MJ had who again Kerr, Pippen, Rodman this players weren't known to well until they played with Jordan, after Jordan left the game what did any of this players become? Bryant on the other hand had a huge helping fact players already with the in game winning experience... Horry, Fisher, and most of all Shaq.. Now we have the Shaq left the Lakers and Kobe for the past two years has done what?? Jordan left a winner came back a winner. Kobe now offers a poor performance nearly every game too greedy too selfish too stupid... I like the guy but he is never going to be a michael jordan

No, Kobe is not better than Jordan. Jordan had the mentality and brutal defense to go with his unparalleled offensive skills. If I had Jordan vs Kobe in a 1 on 1 match, I would have Jordan come out on top any day of the week. Not only that, he didn't have a guy named Shaq when he won those rings. Shaq is a once in a lifetime dominant center. But Jordan is the best ever.

Jordan carried his team to six championships and made the rest of his team great. Kobe won three championships, BUT, he could not have done it without Shaq. As a matter a fact, Shaq won the championships, Kobe just helped. Look at what happened last year (06), The lakers got eliminated in the playoffs(kobes team), and the Miami Heat won the championship (the deisels team! or Shaq). Jordan won 3 championships and retired. during that layoof, the Bulls lost and didnt win a championship. Then Jordan comes out of retirement and wins 3 more. Thats greatness. ohh yeah, kobe is not better than michael.

I want to correct what one of the people said. Kobe was the main guy on the Lakers when they won their 3rd championship. Kobe is a better shooter and ball handler than Jordan. Jordan could jump from a little further and was more arcrobatic in some ways. Even though Kobe is still one of the most acrobatic of all time. I think all in all they are about the same except for the fact that Kobe gets mad and throws games.

Are you insenuating that Kobe Bryant is the best NBA player of all time? He would be if he was better than Jordon. No one has ever come close to what MJ did for the game of basketball. Jordon did everything, every single game. He scored if he had to or he played as a team if that's what it took to win.

Ask Phil Jackson who is better, I gauruntee he'd say Jordon.

Although, I hate it when people call Kobe a ball hog. Until you hear Phil Jackson say Kobe is a ball hog, or his teamates say Kobe is a ball hog, then he isn't a ball hog. He shoots at a decent percentage (much higher than AI) and he gets all around stats. Kobe Bryant is a competitor, not a ball hog, and in the NBA right now, there's no one I would rather have with the ball in his hands.

No, If michael was younger he could kill kobe at basketball. Just because Kobe can play for another 14 years doesn't mean that he will get more rings than michael.

Yes, he is better because the competition around the NBA has grown with new talent making it more difficult to win games. Obviously Kobe stands out because is a scoring machine when he wants and can control the tempo at his dispense like MJ. If Kobe played durring MJ era he who probally average about 60 plus a game.

when kobe got his rings, he wasn't the main guy. shaq was. while jordan was the main guy for all of the rings he got.
i think kobe and jordan can not be compared to each other. because they are not playing in the same era, which means, both have they're own advantage and disadvantage. ok, kobe scored 81 pts. that was a marvelous achievement. but i don't think he can do that if he plays in jordan's era where it was more physical. put jordan in his prime in today's era, who knows what he can do.
simply said, both are great players. no one is better than the other

Nope, Jordan has class. Something Kobe will never have. Class is part of being great.
