Only if you are the first person to touch the ball (then you are ineligible). You can come out of bounds and come back in to touch the ball as long as you are not the first person to touch the ball after the ball has been thrown or kicked.

I've never seen anybody go to jail for doing that. If a receiver goes out of bounds they can't be the first person to touch the ball (as was stated above). They can eb involved in teh play, they can block downfield. Whoever brought up the robbery by the Steelers on the Colts. A-freakin-men, Harbaugh should have been in the super bowl that year.

Yes. If he runs out of bounds or out of the back of the endzone ON HIS OWN and returns to participate in the play, he is ineligible to do so. If he's FORCED out by a defender, he must come back inbounds as soon as possible before he can participate in the play. If he fails to do so, he's still subject to penalty.

If a player runs out of bounds and is the first to touch the ball WITHOUT re-establishing himself in the field of play - it is illegal. IF HOWEVER, he runs out of bounds, comes back into the field of play long enough to re-establish himself, then he can be the first to touch the ball. That length of time to re-establish seems to be at the refs discretion.

Also you are ALLOWED to go out and come back in IF the ref determines that you were FORCED out by the Defense. Sorry can't really remember a game from 10 years ago or I would argue about whether or not that play HAPPENED let alone if it was legal.

Yes----------- But, he can return to the endzone but he must establish field position before he can touch the ball.
If he was pushed out then thats a different ruling also.

by the rules it is not legal. the colts lost an afc championship game partially because kordell stewart did the very thing to catch a td at the end of the 1st half. so i guess it's illegal unless you are the goddam steelers.i'm still super pissed. i lost no love for you aaron bailey.
