I heard someone ask someone else if they had any "sparks" on them. What were they refering to?

While I don't smoke myself (so I can't say I've used the expression), I have heard it used to mean a way to light one's cigarette, namely matches or a lighter.

'Sparks' is a simple one-word way to convey the idea of either being acceptable, and derives from the fact that both devices make sparks in order to produce a flame. Asking someone if they have any "sparks" on them is comparable to asking "Got a light?"

It might be that new energy drink/malt beverage depending on where you were at the time. That's my best guess-- or perhaps a light of some sort.
